Alfred J. Davis Sr., Director
Alfred J. Davis, Sr. joined the East Alabama Workforce Development Network in May 2013. Since that time, he has focused on positioning the East Alabama Workforce Investment Network (EAWIN) as an innovative leader in workforce development initiatives. From partnering with educational, business, and industry partners for effective use of workforce resources to bringing employers, jobseekers, youth, educators, community organizations, state agencies, and other non-profits together to find–and fund – solutions to workforce gaps. Alfred has more than 25 years of experience in addressing local and regional needs, including workforce development. While his focus is Region 8, Alfred believes in sharing the EAWIN knowledge with other workforce development organizations.
Prior to being named Executive Director, Alfred was City Manager of Tuskegee, Alabama, and Executive Director of the Tuskegee-Macon County Head Start. He has served as Director of the Solid Waste Management Department for the City of Durham, North Carolina, Director of Environmental Services and Community Development Officer for the City of Auburn, Alabama, and Program Analyst for the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Alfred also served as Vice Chairman of the Macon County Economic Development Authority. Alfred earned his Bachelor’s degree in English from Auburn University at Montgomery and his Master’s degree in Public Administration from Auburn University. Alfred lives in Auburn, Alabama.
