Region 8 has rich culture and heritage, diverse scenery and unique and entertaining experiences, including national historic sites, museums, world-class golf courses, major sporting venues at Auburn University, and outdoor tourism such as camping, fishing, and hunting. The Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site, Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site, George Washington Carver Museum, Booker T. Washington Home – “The Oakes,” Tuskegee National Forest, Chambers County Lake, Chattahoochee River Whitewater, Wehle Nature Center, and 696-acre Chewacla State Park represent the diversity of experiences available in Region 8.  Accommodation and Food Service is one of the five largest employers in the Region, providing 11.3 percent of the jobs. Retail Trade, ranks second among the leading employers, and provides 13.85 percent of the jobs for our workforce.
